MAXI DRESSES | MA BELLE ALLURE | SFH DESIGNS

My Maxi Dresses are some of my favourite items in my wardrobe. I have light flowing ones for summer and warm knitted ones for winter. I can pop one on to go shopping or dress them up to go out for dinner. Wear them with a strappy sandal in summer or a great boot in winter.

The maxi dress continues to be a fashion favourite because it’s comfortable, versatile and flatters most body shapes. I have chosen a bold geometric design for this look. If you are bigger around the bust the horizontal strips around this part would turn some of you away. However with a few stylish accessories you can create more of an hourglass look. Team the maxi with a gold drop earring and a longer line cape. The combination of a drop earring and the clean lines of the cape elongate your body as the eye follows the drop earring down the lapels of the cape. The length of the jacket finishes mid-thigh emphasising your thinner legs. A black clutch with gold embellishments, ties in beautifully with the gold earrings. Finally wearing your hair up and adding a black heel makes you seem taller, and you have created a simple, yet sophisticated look.

If you have an inverted triangle body shape, you can also look fabulous in this maxi. Add a simple black belt to cinch in your waist. The horizontal stripes on the top add width to your bust area creating more balanced proportions. A statement clutch and matching earrings contrast beautifully with the geometric monochrome pattern of this maxi. You can also add a great wide-brimmed hat once again drawing the attention away from your shoulders. Because of the clash of colour and patterns in this style I have stuck with a plain black hat, and added a simple pair of black flats to keep the look relaxed and casual.
