Vintage Jackie O Inspired Shoot LATEST NEWS September 21, 2018September 15, 20180 Vintage Jackie O Inspired Shoot Vintage fashion always has a few trends surfacing every season — whether it's ruffles, vintage Levis or more classic styles. It’s been 24 years since former US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis passed away Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Despite this lengthy passage in time, the her timeless appeal and glamour and one of the most iconic faces of the 20th century still influences fashion today. It was well known that Jackie O loved European designers such as Valentino, Saint Laurent and Chanel as well as her signature oversized sunglasses, Jackie O’s name is still linked to classic style and grace. In honour of the late style icon this photoshoot at the University of Queensland St Lucia channelled some of her signature looks. The original 50's handmade fitted dress was styled with a modern twist, to bring it up to date and keep it relevant for today. Its easy to recreate this look for yourself. Essential for this look is oversized sunglasses.... a scarf to wrap around your hair and highlight your face....... and to modernize the look I've added an on-trend sheer sock, heel and bag.... all worn with a vintage hand made dress from the 1950s. Spring and Early Autumn Fashion Shoot LATEST NEWS September 16, 2018September 16, 20180 Spring and Early Autumn Fashion Shoot When deciding on what to call this series of shoots I thought of a quote by Jane Fonda “A man has every season while a woman only has the right to spring”.⠀ ⠀ So our favourite Ma Belle Allure model cara_gilligan is in the Spring of her life and while I’m definitely not yet in the Winter of mine, I’m thinking more like early Autumn is the best way to describe my life stage so “Spring and Early Autumn” it is.⠀ ⠀ I wanted to show women that whether you are moving through the spring, summer, autumn or winter of your life you can wear most of what is on sale regardless of your life stage by just understanding your body shape and having a few clever styling tips and tricks up your sleeve.⠀ If you are interested in a one-on-one styling session with me or you would like to attend one of my styling workshops please email me on info@mabelleallure.com.au A big thank you to palomabrisbane for collaborating with me on this shoot. Ralph & Russo AW18 LATEST NEWS Videos September 15, 2018September 15, 20180 Ralph & Russo is a high fashion house that specialises in haute couture and ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods, and fashion accessories. It is a privately held company established in 2010 and owned by Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo. And the best part is they are both Australians!!! Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo’s couture label is the only British design house to have joined the French Chambre Syndicale, and is known for dressing royals and celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Beyoncé. Tamara Ralph is the fourth generation in her family to work in couture and fashion design. After graduating from the Whitehouse Institute of Design in Melbourne, Australia, Ralph travelled to London in hopes of breaking into the fashion industry. After a chance meeting with Michael Russo, an Australian banker working in London, the duo launched Ralph & Russo in 2006. The couple’s business has been profitable since its inception and filled a gap in the market in London, a highly affluent fashion hub without a local couture provider. To preserve the brand’s exclusivity, Ralph & Russo sells only one version of each garment per country. In 2013, the couple were the only representatives from the fashion industry on Forbes’ annual list of the 40 most successful people under 40. In 2014, Ralph & Russo was the first British brand to show at Paris Couture Week, and since became the first British couture house to join the French Chambre Syndicale. Today, the company has offices in Paris and London, and a roster of more than 600 clients.

Latest Fashion Trends LATEST NEWS Tips and Tricks January 13, 2018December 30, 20180 What are the biggest fashion trends this year? According to who-is-who in the fashion world they will be: Tie-dye – perfect for the beach loving aussie and the boho inside us all! Bike shorts – hmmm all I can think of is no chaff on hot humid summer days hehehehehe Puffy sleeves – remember the 80’s waterwave taffeta puffy sleeved dresses – well the puffy sleeves are back (not the water wave taffeta thank goodness). This trend is great for the triangle or column body shapes. All shades of yellow – if you can wear warm colours then you are going to look amazing in yellow. For the remainder of us, incorporate this colour into your wardrobe by adding splashes of it through your accessories. Short suiting – this is a perfect trend for our Australian hot summers. If you've got great legs this trend is for you. Diamonds and Ovals usually have great legs so you are going to love this trend. If your legs are less than perfect, opt for knee length shorts and a bit of fake tan! Cargo pants – fabulous to add width to the lower half of your body so columns and inverted triangles this one is for you. Images: @marieclaireau
