Top 5 Shoe Trends this Year LATEST NEWS Tips and Tricks January 23, 2019December 30, 20180 Expect to see the humble Thong (or flip flop) as a standout shoe trend this year. Queenslanders have long been considered less fashionable then their southern neighbours because of their love of this humble piece of rubber, but they can now claim they have been ahead of the fashion pack for decades!!! The thong/flip flop will be huge this year!! Also the chunky Dad Sneaker has been given a stylish revamp and can be worn anywhere not just to the gym. Mums also get a mention with the Mum Mule being one of the top 5 shoe trends. The downside of Mums finally being fashionable is that your daughters are going to be constantly in your wardrobe!! Next is the Strappy Sandal (which I think we all have a pair somewhere in our wardrobe) and believe it or not (drum roll), the final shoe trend is the Western Cowboy Boot!! Don’t be afraid to combine animal print and the cowboy boot, like this one featured from Zimmerman. So after a quick check of my wardrobe - thongs (tick), Dad Sneakers (hubby's feet are two big), Mum Mules (tick), Strappy Sandal (tick) but as for Western Cowboy Boots I might leave this trend to my daughters!! Happy shopping everyone! Simone xx (Fashion Stylist and Founder of Ma Belle Allure)
Fashion Trends for 2019 LATEST NEWS Tips and Tricks January 9, 2019January 9, 20190 What will be the biggest fashion trends in 2019? According to the who's who of the fashion world they will be: Tie-dye – perfect for the beach loving Aussie and the boho chic in us all. Bike shorts – hmmm all I can think of is no chaff on hot humid summer days! Puffy sleeves – remember the 80’s waterwave taffeta puffy sleeved dresses? Well they are back (the puffy sleeves not the water wave taffeta thank goodness)!!! This style is great for the triangle or column bodyshapes! All shades of yellow – if you suit warm colours then you are going to look amazing in this colour. For everyone else, incorporate this colour into your wardrobe through your accessories. Short suiting – This is a fabulous trend for our hot Australian summers (especially if you have good legs). Diamonds and Ovals usually have great legs so you are going to love this trend. For those of us whose legs are less than perfect, knee length shorts and a fake tan will work wonders. Cargo pants – fabulous to add width to the lower half of your body so columns and inverted triangles this one is for you. Bucket Hats – thank goodness no more fighting with children to wear hats!! Hats are finally cool again!! Simone xx (Fashion Stylist and Founder of Ma Belle Allure) Images: Marie Claire Australia @marieclaireau

Fashion Inspiration for the Party Season LATEST NEWS Tips and Tricks Videos December 27, 2018December 30, 20180 To help you choose just the right outfit for the party season, here is some fashion inspiration straight off the runways of Europe. Let's face it, the right outfit can make you feel amazing. When you look great, you exude confidence and everyone notices. So here are my top 5 Fashion Trends for this year's party season. The 1980's power pant suit has undergone a revamp. Choose one that is glossy or dress it up with shiny metallic accessories and heels. Animal print, especially leopard or zebra is back in a big way. If this top-to-toe zebra sequin dress from Halpern (UK) is a little OTT you can opt for an animal trimmed slip dress, clash with a double dose of animal print or add leopard or zebra print heels and clutch. Sequins can be worn all year round. However, sequins remain one of our favourites for the festive season. This year, you can sparkle your way through any party in a striking silver sequin dress. You can also add a touch of sparkle to any outfit by adding party worthy accessories. The roaring '20s fringed dresses are back this party season, but they have been given a luxe makeover. Gracing the catwalks of Gucci to Givenchy, fringing has become both elegant and festive. Seen in the latest collections from Simone Roch, Ralph and Russo, Chanel, Fendi and other major labels, metallic or glossy fabrics were featured prominently. Grab a little inspiration from these collections and choose something shimmery and metallic. What will you choose this party season? Shorts and a Suit – How to Make this Look Work Tips and Tricks Videos August 29, 2016January 27, 20170 As the weather starts to warm up your Man's suit does not have to be packed away until next winter. A few clever styling tips and your man will be stepping out in style. My passion is to style women in the latest trends but to style those trends for your body. So I am extra excited to do a shoot for you on how to style your man. Most men have a suit in their wardrobe, whether they got it for a school formal, a wedding or a job interview, but for some men that is where it stays – in their wardrobe! So ladies with a few clever styling tricks you can ensure your man gets a lot of wear out of his suit, and both of you can step out in style!!! When the weather warms up, don’t let your man pack his suit away. Get him to wear his suit jacket with a pair of dress shorts. The addition of the jacket can smarten up a casual summer look. When creating this look, keep to no more than 3 colours. I’ve found that for most men, any more than three colours can make the look appear chaotic rather than stylish. You are trying to achieve a look that is both comfortable and elegant, so team your man’s navy suit jacket with a white t-shirt. I have chosen a v neck t-shirt from DBS Menswear in Wynnum for this look. Add a pair of dress shorts, ditch the long and loose style for something slim and fitted that finishes above the knee. Next match the shoes and belt to either his jacket or shorts. For Alex I have chosen to accessorise this look with a casual leather slip-on shoe and matching belt which is perfect for less formal occasions. The colour teams with the tailored shorts. I have sourced the tailored shorts, t-shirt and, footwear and belt from DBS Menswear in Wynnum. If you want to take your man shopping, this is the store to go to. Peter and his team have a wide range and provide fabulous service.
BIB NECKLACE Tips and Tricks August 11, 2016July 24, 20170 A Bib Necklace is a great choice if you have a smaller bust. Teaming this style of necklace with a boat neckline and you have created the ideal look for a pear body shape because it widens your shoulders, creates interest on your upper body and balances your bottom half.
