Fashion Trends for 2019

What will be the biggest fashion trends in 2019?  According to the who's who of the fashion world they will be: Tie-dye – perfect for the beach loving Aussie and the boho chic in us all.   Bike shorts – hmmm all I can think of is no chaff on hot humid summer days!   Puffy sleeves – remember the 80’s waterwave taffeta puffy sleeved dresses? Well they are back (the puffy sleeves not the water wave taffeta thank goodness)!!! This style is great for the triangle or column bodyshapes!   All shades of yellow – if you suit warm colours then you are going to look amazing in this colour. For everyone else, incorporate this colour into your wardrobe through your accessories.   Short suiting – This is a fabulous trend for our hot Australian summers (especially if you have good legs). Diamonds and Ovals usually have great legs so you are going to love this trend. For those of us whose legs are less than perfect, knee length shorts and a fake tan will work wonders.   Cargo pants – fabulous to add width to the lower half of your body so columns and inverted triangles this one is for you.   Bucket Hats – thank goodness no more fighting with children to wear hats!! Hats are finally cool again!! Simone xx (Fashion Stylist and Founder of Ma Belle Allure) Images: Marie Claire Australia @marieclaireau

Colour of the Season and Where to Find It

You can expect to see the colour Living Coral everywhere this year.  Pantone has just released it as the Colour of the Year for 2019.     Living Coral is described as an “animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge”. If you have fallen in love with Living Coral, I've found a selection of items in this hue available to purchase straight away. Happy shopping!  All are available from The Iconic or directly from the Talulah, Steele, Frankie & Dash and Forcast websites. Simone xx (Fashion Stylist and Founder of Ma Belle Allure)

Fashion Inspiration for the Party Season

To help you choose just the right outfit for the party season, here is some fashion inspiration straight off the runways of Europe. Let's face it, the right outfit can make you feel amazing. When you look great, you exude confidence and everyone notices.  So here are my top 5 Fashion Trends for this year's party season. The 1980's power pant suit has undergone a revamp.  Choose one that is glossy or dress it up with shiny metallic accessories and heels. Animal print, especially leopard or zebra is back in a big way. If this top-to-toe zebra sequin dress from Halpern (UK) is a little OTT you can opt for an animal trimmed slip dress, clash with a double dose of animal print or add leopard or zebra print heels and clutch.   Sequins can be worn all year round. However, sequins remain one of our favourites for the festive season. This year, you can sparkle your way through any party in a striking silver sequin dress.  You can also add a touch of sparkle to any outfit by adding party worthy accessories.   The roaring '20s fringed dresses are back this party season, but they have been given a luxe makeover.  Gracing the catwalks of Gucci to Givenchy, fringing has become both elegant and festive.     Seen in the latest collections from Simone Roch, Ralph and Russo, Chanel, Fendi and other major labels, metallic or glossy fabrics were featured prominently.  Grab a little inspiration from these collections and choose something shimmery and metallic. What will you choose this party season? Simone xx (Fashion Stylist and Founder of Ma Belle Allure) Images: Harper's Bazaar UK

Shorts and a Suit – How to Make this Look Work

As the weather starts to warm up your Man's suit does not have to be packed away until next winter. A few clever styling tips and your man will be stepping out in style. Thanks to: Outfitter: DBS Menswear facebook: DBS Menswear, @dbsMenswear, www.dbsmenswear.com.au Videographer: Sarah Robinson www.thevideobox.com.au Hair and Makeup: Keeley Shae Facebook: Keeley-Shae – Makeup Artist, @keeleyshaemua Models: Alex Graf and Cara Gilligan Video Transcript: Suit Jacket and Shorts | Ma Belle Allure | DBS Menswear Hello, I’m Simone Parker from Ma Belle Allure. My passion is to style women in the latest trends but to style those trends for your body. So I am extra excited to do a shoot for you on how to style your man. Most men have a suit in their wardrobe, whether they got it for a school formal, a wedding or a job interview, but for some men that is where it stays – in their wardrobe! So ladies with a few clever styling tricks you can ensure your man gets a lot of wear out of his suit, and both of you can step out in style!!! When the weather warms up, don’t let your man pack his suit away. Get him to wear his suit jacket with a pair of dress shorts. The addition of the jacket can smarten up a casual summer look. When creating this look, keep to no more than 3 colours. I’ve found that for most men, any more than three colours can make the look appear chaotic rather than stylish. You are trying to achieve a look that is both comfortable and elegant, so team your man’s navy suit jacket with a white t-shirt. I have chosen a v neck t-shirt from DBS Menswear in Wynnum for this look. Add a pair of dress shorts, ditch the long and loose style for something slim and fitted that finishes above the knee. Next match the shoes and belt to either his jacket or shorts. For Alex I have chosen to accessorise this look with a casual leather slip-on shoe and matching belt which is perfect for less formal occasions. The colour teams with the tailored shorts. I have sourced the tailored shorts, t-shirt and, footwear and belt from DBS Menswear in Wynnum. If you want to take your man shopping, this is the store to go to. Peter and his team have a wide range and provide fabulous service.

BIB NECKLACE

A Bib Necklace is a great choice if you have a smaller bust. Teaming this style of necklace with a boat neckline and you have created the ideal look for a pear body shape because it widens your shoulders, creates interest on your upper body and balances your bottom half. LONG/MULTIPLE NECKLACES

Long and layered necklaces are ideal for smaller busts.  Team with a boat or scoop neckline top.  A boat neckline is a good option for a pear body shape, and a scoop neckline is the most versatile and the safest option for all body shapes.   Thanks to: Boutique: Grace Inspired @graceinspired, Facebook: Grace Inspired, http://www.graceinspired.com.au Photographer: Carla Benzie Facebook /Carla Benzie Gallery and Studio, Instagram @carlabenzie   Stylist:  Ma Belle Allure (My Beautiful Look), @mabelleallure, Facebook: Ma Belle Allure

V NECKLINE

V Necklines are flattering on nearly all body shapes, and works especially well if you have a larger bust but just ensure that the fabric falls softly over your bust line and isn't clingy.  If you have a long thin neck, just make sure the V isn't too deep as it may make your neck look too long.   Thanks to: Boutique: Grace Inspired @graceinspired, Facebook: Grace Inspired, http://www.graceinspired.com.au Photographer: Carla Benzie Facebook /Carla Benzie Gallery and Studio, Instagram @carlabenzie   Stylist:  Ma Belle Allure (My Beautiful Look), @mabelleallure, Facebook: Ma Belle Allur

COWL NECKLINE

A softly draped cowl neckline can add curves if you have a smaller bust by adding volume, but is also great at camouflage your larger bust if you have a long thin neck and a long décolleté line.  Team this style of neckline with some great statement earrings.
