NAVY | MA BELLE ALLURE | SOUBRET PINK Videos September 5, 2016September 23, 20160 I’ve always been a huge fan of Navy so it’s fantastic to see that it is back, and as one of the latest fashion trends. Navy is being called “the new black”. This sophisticated colour flatters most skin tones as it is more subtle than black. When the weather starts heating up, I love wearing navy because I think it looks and feels cooler than black (that might be all in my head – but it works for me)! Thanks to: Boutique: Soubret Pink – soubretpink.com.au, Facebook: soubret pink Videographer: Sarah Robinson www.thevideobox.com.au Hair and Makeup: Keeley Shae Facebook: Keeley-Shae – Makeup Artist, Instagram @keeleyshaemua Video Transcript: Navy | Soubret Pink | Ma Belle Allure Hi I’m Simone Parker from Ma Belle Allure. My passion is to take the latest trends and style those for your body shape. Navy is being called “the new black”. This sophisticated colour flatters most skin tones as it is more subtle than black. Renee is wearing a great navy dress from Soubret Pink in Brisbane that flatters the Triangle or Pear body shape. The length of the top really suits you as it finishes around the thinner part of your legs and falls softly over your curves drawing the eye away from your bottom or thighs. The ¾ sleeves are a perfect length as they finish at a similar level to your slim waist. You can add a pop of colour by accessorising with a bright necklace and a colourful textured clutch. The clutch incorporates the colours of your necklace and also complements the neutral coloured heel. The fitted bodice on this navy dress also from Soubret Pink in Brisbane fits nicely over a larger bust and the zipper leads the eye to Gabby’s slim waist. If you have a larger bust, sometimes high necklines and a fitted bodice are not the best choice but it works for Gabby because she has distance between her bustline and waist. You can wear bright statement earrings which coordinate with the navy and gold of the dress and diverts the eye away from your bust area. A nude heel in a similar colour to your skin elongates your legs making you appear taller and slimmer and is perfect for day wear. I hope I have given you some tips today on how to style a navy dress for your body shape and you are inspired to create your own beautiful look. Shorts and a Suit – How to Make this Look Work Tips and Tricks Videos August 29, 2016January 27, 20170 As the weather starts to warm up your Man's suit does not have to be packed away until next winter. A few clever styling tips and your man will be stepping out in style. My passion is to style women in the latest trends but to style those trends for your body. So I am extra excited to do a shoot for you on how to style your man. Most men have a suit in their wardrobe, whether they got it for a school formal, a wedding or a job interview, but for some men that is where it stays – in their wardrobe! So ladies with a few clever styling tricks you can ensure your man gets a lot of wear out of his suit, and both of you can step out in style!!! When the weather warms up, don’t let your man pack his suit away. Get him to wear his suit jacket with a pair of dress shorts. The addition of the jacket can smarten up a casual summer look. When creating this look, keep to no more than 3 colours. I’ve found that for most men, any more than three colours can make the look appear chaotic rather than stylish. You are trying to achieve a look that is both comfortable and elegant, so team your man’s navy suit jacket with a white t-shirt. I have chosen a v neck t-shirt from DBS Menswear in Wynnum for this look. Add a pair of dress shorts, ditch the long and loose style for something slim and fitted that finishes above the knee. Next match the shoes and belt to either his jacket or shorts. For Alex I have chosen to accessorise this look with a casual leather slip-on shoe and matching belt which is perfect for less formal occasions. The colour teams with the tailored shorts. I have sourced the tailored shorts, t-shirt and, footwear and belt from DBS Menswear in Wynnum. If you want to take your man shopping, this is the store to go to. Peter and his team have a wide range and provide fabulous service.
Athleisure Styling Ideas for your Man’s Suit | Ma Belle Allure Videos August 25, 2016August 8, 20160 Your Man's suit doesn't have to sit in the wardrobe only to be worn on special occasions. In this video we show you how to work the Athleisure trend so you and your man can step out in style. So ladies with a few clever styling tricks you can ensure your man gets a lot of wear out of his suit, and both of you can step out in style!!! Athleisure busted onto the menswear scene in 2015. Now the trend has been adopted by many menswear designers. Athleisure adopts the sporty aesthetic into everyday menswear. Clever tailoring and design allows cotton and canvas, lightweight parkas and even parachute fabric to be worn with suits. You might have heard the term high-low which refers to high contrast – low contrast in tones and colours but also in textures. The advantage of adopting the Athleisure trend is that it is now acceptable to team a suit with sneakers or an anorak with a shirt and tie. So to make the Athleisure look work with your man’s suit I have chosen a burgundy canvas anorak from DBS Menswear in Wynnum to team with your man’s suit pants. The light coloured cords on the anorak team really well with a plain white t-shirt. Once again the look works better if you try to stick to 3 colours, so for footwear I have chosen a navy suede lace up. The suede keeps the look casual and the light coloured laces tie into the colour of the t-shirt and anorak trim. I have also added a casual woven navy and leather belt. To make the look a little edgy and for those cool mornings, you can add a beanie. A beanie can look smart as well as street so to keep it smart and make it work with your man’s suit trousers keep the colour neutral and the style minimal so this grey one is ideal. Once again, a huge thank you to Peter, from DBS Menswear, for providing the anorak, t-shirt, beanie shoes and belt for this shoot. You can check out DBS Menswear’s wide range at the store in Edith Street in Wynnum or on go to the DBS menswear website.
How to Style Denim with a Suit for Men | Ma Belle Allure Videos August 22, 2016August 22, 20160 Get so much more wear out of a suit by styling it with denim jeans. This video shows you a couple of different ways to team a suit jacket with denim jeans. There will be no more excuses for your man's suit to stay in the wardrobe anymore!! So ladies with a few clever styling tricks you can ensure your man gets a lot of wear out of his suit, and both of you can step out in style!!! Teaming a suit jacket with denim jeans is one of my favourite looks for men. I love a man in a pair of nice fitting jeans and I also love a man in a suit, so this style combines both! Very sexy! The look is stylish yet masculine and a guy can put his own personality into this look through his accessories. For more of a casual take on this look, his suit jacket can be teamed with a white, v-neck t shirt and then add brown shoes and a matching belt which I sourced from DBS Menswear in Wynnum. Brown looks fabulous with navy and also with denim. A hint to make this look work is to create some contract between the colour of the jacket and the jeans. If your man has a dark coloured jacket, team it with a lighter wash jean. For a more sophisticated look, team his suit jacket and jeans with a collared shirt and tie. A patterned shirt like this one, looks great if you team it with a plain tie in a similar colour and tone to his jacket. Try to keep to no more than three colours. Once again a big shout out and thank you to Peter and his team from DBS Menswear for supplying the t-shirt, chocolate suede desert boot, belt, coloured shirt and tie. You can find DBS Menswear in Wynnum or check out their website.
How to make Sneakers and a Suit Work | Ma Belle Allure | DBS Menswear Videos August 18, 2016August 16, 20160 Have you seen it on catwalks and in fashion magazines but you never thought you, or ladies, your man, could carry the look off. So ladies with a few clever styling tricks you can ensure your man gets a lot of wear out of his suit, and both of you can step out in style!!! 2015 was really the start of the sneaker trend – now they are mainstream, out of the gym or skate park and into clubs, restaurants and even the work environments. Our feet are thanking us for adopting this trend because of the comfort and so is our hip pocket because of the versatility of the “kick”. The secret to making this look work is to keep it simple. Team your man’s suit, with a white t-shirt which can be worn either tucked in or loose. Because we are going for a casual effortless look wear the t-shirt out then there is no need to wear a belt. Next add a white sneaker. I have chosen a leather high top converse for Alex from DBS Menswear in Wynnum. Don’t tie the laces all the way up, this way you can wear the tongue over the leg of the trousers, which contrasts the slim fit or the suit. By teaming only two items with your man’s suit, you have created a casual on trend look for your man – one that he will feel comfortable in. For this look, I sourced the t-shirt and kicks from DBS Menswear in Wynnum. A big thank you to Peter for his help and professionalism. If you live in Brisbane, it is worth the trip to DBS Menswear for great service and a wide range of menswear from boardshorts, imported European suits, shoes and accessories and formal hire. They even stock boyswear.
Smart Casual Styling Tips for your Man’s Suit Videos August 15, 2016September 26, 20160 A crisp cotton oxford style shirt worn with navy suit pants and brown accessories - what a great look for. So ladies with a few clever styling tricks you can ensure your man gets a lot of wear out of his suit, and both of you can step out in style!!! A crisp cotton shirt worn with tailored trousers always reminds me of summers in England, garden parties and drinks on the lawn. There is something very stylish about this look even though it is simple to put together. A slim cut but an easy fit cotton or linen shirt and a suede desert boot is what you need for this look. The easy fit of the shirt hides your man’s tummy if he has one, but the slimmer fit ensure that he doesn’t look too bulky. If you are wearing the shirt with navy suit trousers, team it with a brown suede desert boot and matching belt. Many outfits could benefit from the addition of a pair of desert boots as it’s a style made for simplicity and versatility. Teaming dress trousers with suede and cotton transforms the look of the trousers from formal to a casual, and is comfortable yet stylish look. This look is great for day or casual dining with friends in the evening. I sourced the cotton shirt, suede desert boots and belt from DBS Menswear in Wynnum. Peter and his team at DBS are a joy to work with and I encourage you to drop into the store and check out the wide range of menswear from boardshorts, imported European suits, shoes and accessories and formal hire.
CORPORATE Videos August 8, 2016June 24, 20160 If I had a fairy godmother I would wish for an unlimited clothing budget and a wardrobe to accommodate it all (as well as world peace and an end to poverty). Unfortunately, I don’t have a fairy godmother so I try to select items of clothing that are versatile and can transition from day to evening wear. In this video I have collaborated once again with Soubret Pink to bring you some corporate pieces that can transition from work wear into amazing outfits for a night out. Boutique: Soubret Pink – soubretpink.com.au, Facebook: soubret pink Videographer: Sarah Robinson www.thevideobox.com.au Hair and Makeup: Keeley Shae Facebook: Keeley-Shae – Makeup Artist, Instagram @keeleyshaemua Video Transcript: Corporate |Soubret Pink |Ma Belle Allure Hi I’m Simone Parker from Ma Belle Allure. In this video we can have some fun styling your body shape with some versatile pieces from Soubret Pink in Brisbane that can transition from corporate to evening. For the Triangle or Pear body shape a block colour works wonders because it creates an unbroken silhouette. To add interest to all black combine different textures and then add colour through accessories. The Cut-outs and shorter length of the sleeves of this top, draws the attention away from your bottom and thighs and the gold clasp draws the eye to your upper body. The asymmetric hem of the top falls nicely over your tummy and hip area. To contrast the fullness of your top, team it with a straight midi skirt to flatter your figure. A nude heel is perfect for the office. To transition this look from corporate to evening, you can simply add fabulous earrings and a gold sequined clutch to match the clasp on your top. Put on a classic black heel and you’re ready for a night out. This gorgeous pink and black dress from Soubret Pink creates effortless corporate dressing. To make the high neck more flattering on your larger bust you can team this dress with a great single breasted jacket with pocket and wrist detail. This will draw the eye away from your bust line. Keep your accessories simple for the office by teaming it with a black heel. To style it for evening you can add a fabulous satin cape. A cape is easy to wear and a great alternative to a jacket. If you have a larger bust it draws the eyes down the lapels towards your slim legs. Add some great earrings and killer heels and you are dressed for the nightlife! The inverted triangle I have styled in classic cream and black for the office. If you have a long neck like Cara, button the blouse up to the collar and team it with a fitted black skirt. You can add a basic black heel or you can team it with a fabulous two tone t-bar heel for that little extra. To transition this look for an evening out, unbutton the blouse slightly, put on some large earrings in gold and black and finally add a fabulous gold sequined clutch to tie the whole look together. I hope I have given you some tips today on how to style corporate wear for your body shape and you are inspired to create your own beautiful look. LACE Videos August 1, 2016June 24, 20160 Dresses of opulent and luxurious lace are so feminine and can be worn in summer and winter. Lace was seen all over the winter and summer runways and its popularity continues. This lace dress is so versatile and can suit heaps of different body shapes. This feminine lace dress from SFH Designs in Brisbane is suitable for a number of body shapes because of its fitted bodice and flowing skirt. The sheer panels on the front of this dress draw the eyes away from the broad shoulders of the inverted triangle. For this look I have teamed the dress with a nude heel to elongate your leg. An elegant gold earring completes the look. The same dress can also suit your larger bust because of the flattering V neckline. The ¾ sleeve length also draws the eye down toward your slim waist and away from the bust. For Gabby I have styled a casual look with these cute neutral boots in a similar colour to your skin tone to elongate your leg, a matching oversized bag draws the eye away from your bust area and finally some gold and variegated blue earrings ties the whole look together. TAILORED PANT Videos July 25, 2016June 24, 20160 I almost throw a party whenever I find a pair of pants that fit me perfectly. It is like winning the lottery! Dress pants are essential for every working woman’s wardrobe but it is often difficult to find a pair that fit well. The secret to finding the perfect fit is to choose a pair that fit nicely on your most troublesome area. Thanks to: Boutique: Soubret Pink – soubretpink.com.au, Facebook: soubret pink Videographer: Sarah Robinson www.thevideobox.com.au Hair and Makeup: Keeley Shae Facebook: Keeley-Shae – Makeup Artist, @keeleyshaemua Video Transcript: Tailored Pant | Soubret Pink | Ma Belle Allure Hi I’m Simone Parker from Ma Belle Allure. Dress pants are essential for every working women’s wardrobe but it is often difficult to find a pair that fit well. To find the right style of pant for your body shape, choose a pair that fit nicely on your most troublesome area. For the Triangle or Pear body shape, I have chosen a ponti pant from Soubret Pink in Brisbane. These pants stretch nicely over your hips and bottom but also fit your waist. Team the pant with a soft flowing blouse that you can wear with a belt to show of your small waist. Roll up your sleeves so that they finish around your slimmer waist and to draw the eye away from your bottom or thighs. You can also try wearing great earrings to draw attention to your shoulders and face. Add a black heel to elongate your leg and you have created a great look for day or night. If you have a larger bust you can also team the same ponti pants with a flowing blouse. The geometric print of this blouse from Soubret Pink is heavily influenced by the 70s and looks great on Gabby. The pattern of the blouse also helps to disguise a larger bust. You can wear the blouse loose or if you have a slim waist, tuck the blouse in slightly at the front to show off your curves. Once again a great pair of earrings draws the eye away from your bust area. Adding a black heel will give the illusion of having longer legs and make you look taller. This is a versatile stylish look. I hope I have given you some tips today on how to style tailored pants for your body shape so you can create your own beautiful look. DENIM Videos July 18, 2016June 24, 20160 I live in denim jeans summer and winter. I’ve got so many pairs in various cuts and colours, it’s rather embarrassing. Everything goes when it comes to denim, from 70s influenced flares, different washes, patches and rips, to denim-on-denim which ensures there is a style and cut to suit every body shape. Denim continues to be hotter than ever this season. Everything goes from 70s influenced flares, different washes, patches and denim on denim. To show you how to style this trend for your body shape, I have chosen these great jeans from SFH Designs in Brisbane. The double zip trim on the hip draws the eye away your larger bust. I have teamed them with a fabulous cream blouse which falls softly over your bust area. You can tuck in the front to emphasis your small waist and leave the back long. A great pair of earrings draws the eye away from your bust, then add a boot in a similar tone to your jeans to make your legs look longer. This is a great look for casual dining or a catch up with friends. For the inverted triangle I have styled Cara in denim on denim. The same blouse once again from SFH Designs also looks great on the inverted triangle. Because of your broad shoulders, slim waist and hips you can wear this blouse out. I have teamed the blouse with this fabulous light coloured-denim jacket. The angel wings on the back, makes it a unique piece. I had to accessorise the look with these amazing boots (sometimes you can never have enough bling), added some silver earrings and you will make an entrance wherever you go. I hope I have given you some tips today on how to style denim for your body shape and you are inspired to create your own beautiful look.
